Every year, when we decorate the tree, there are always one or two extra special ornaments that get saved for last. These are the ornaments that have been passed down from generation to generation.
They are tin, or glass, or paper. Finely crafted, lovingly painted and carefully preserved. They must have hung on hundreds of Christmas trees over the years. My family has one ornament that even traveled across the Atlantic with my great grandparents!
