10 Movies You Can Watch On Netflix To Remind Yourself Why The '80s Were The Best Decade

The 80s had plenty of classic movies that we love to this day, but sometimes it can be a pain to track them down. This is especially true if all you ever had was a VHS copy of it, but thankfully Netflix often has you covered, especially in the case of these 12 classics.

Big Trouble In Little China

The adventures of Jack Burton, Wang Chi and Gracie Law are so awesome we wrote an entire article about them! This movie is everything great about 80s action movies, and you need to watch it immediately.

The Princess Bride

The classic story of adventure, courage, and true love is one of the best even to this day, and the fact that it's just readily available for everyone to watch is perfect.

E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial

The heartwarming tale of a young boy's unconditional love for his alien friend, Steven Spielberg's classic family movie has stayed awesome for over 30 years, and you owe it to yourself to watch it again.

The Thin Blue Line

A documentary about a man wrongfully accused of murder that was so effective it actually got him pardoned, The Thin Blue Line is a masterpiece of documentary filmmaking. Extra points for the awesome Philip Glass soundtrack.

A Nightmare On Elm Street

Wes Craven's 1984 horror film introduced the world to one of the most iconic and terrifying horror villains of all time; the dream-diving Freddy Krueger. The franchise has its highs and lows, but the original is just as scary as it ever was.

Seriously, the rest of these are just as awesome.

Gremlins

We all love Gizmo, so long as we don't feed him after midnight that is. This horror comedy is good fun, and it's probably been forever since you last saw it.

The Last Unicorn

An animated movie so awesome that Disney probably wishes they'd made it, everyone deserves to experience the story of a lone unicorn trying to find the rest of her kind. It's extra awesome thanks to a cast featuring Mia Farrow, Alan Arkin, Jeff Bridges, and Sir Christopher Lee.

Poltergeist

With the unfortunate passing of director Tobe Hooper, now's the perfect time to watch his and Steven Spielberg's fantastic horror collaboration. Forget the remake, the original is all you could ever want out of a horror movie.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

This mash-up of live-action and animation is still impressive even by today's standards, and it's always crazy to see Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny in the same movie. Awesome then, awesome now.

Heathers

This movie had people asking "What's your damage?" throughout the 90s (given it came out right at the end of the 80s), and it's beloved so much that of course they're remaking it.

Share with anybody who loves movies from the 80s!

But here's the thing, you watch it once and you're like, "Oh wow, that's hilarious!" But if you watch it a second time, you'll see that they really went all out to recreate it shot for shot. A Behind-The-Scenes Look At The New Aladdin Is Here And At Least One Of Our Wishes Was Granted

We've been waiting patiently, okay mostly patiently, since Disney announced that Aladdin was being remade. The cartoon remains one of the most iconic movies of all time, and the fact that they were going to try and bring it to life with real humans instead of the animated versions was kind of concerning. We saw the first trailer a while ago, but the only character we actually saw up close was Aladdin himself. We didn't see how the Genie looked, or Jasmine, or any of the other characters. But now, Entertainment Weekly has given us all the first look at

It turns out it was actually a big interview to discuss the anniversary, the legacy, and of course Robin Williams. Tim Allen Reveals The Original Plan For 'The Santa Clause' Was Way Too Dark For Disney

We've all seen The Santa Clause at least a dozen times, right? It's a Christmas classic and ever since it was released, it has become a staple in our holiday movie schedule. There's something about the movie that manages to keep that Christmas feeling without being way too over the top or corny. I mean, sure, Tim Allen literally becomes Santa, but somehow it all feels like that's totally plausible. The sequels may not have the same realistic feeling, but the original remains iconic. However, Allen just revealed that the original plan for the movie was a lot darker than
