20 Music Videos That Kept Us Glued To MTV In The 90s

YouTube

MTV used to be this amazing source for all the best and most amazing music videos. They had all the newest videos that would play constantly, so we could watch them all over and over again. Some of the videos are more memorable than the others, whether it was because the song was really good, the video was really weird or some weird combination of them all.

How many of these 20 videos do you remember watching?

Bye, Bye, Bye - *Nsync

*Nsync had some of the best dance moves on TV. They may have worn some outfits that were a little out there, but you can't deny that these boys could dance.

Say You'll Be There - Spice Girls

Some may argue that Wannabe is more important for the Spice Girls, but I challenge you to watch this and not immediately love them. They got to make their own nicknames, wear those totally awesome outfits and drive that awesome car. So really, this one is the clear winner.

Genie In A Bottle - Christina Aguilera

Christina wasn't quite as huge as Britney Spears, but she was still amazing and iconic in her time!

Everybody - Backstreet Boys

I will sing the praises of this music video until the day I die. The dance alone is enough to celebrate! You know that anytime you hear it you picture those iconic movements.

Bittersweet Symphony - The Verve

It seemed like you couldn't turn on the TV without this song being on. Personally, it was always in the way of my favorite Spice Girls videos, but it had its fans!

Praise You - Fatboy Slim

This is probably one of the stranger videos in that it looks like it was filmed like a home video. It's just a weird group of people dancing outside of a theater, but that doesn't mean it isn't exactly what it should be!

Sabotage - Beastie Boys

This song is so iconic it was even redone with characters from Sesame Street.

Gin & Juice - Snoop Doggy Dog

Early Snoop was pretty iconic at the time. You gotta have your mind on your money, and your money on your mind. Laid back.

Buddy Holly - Weezer

Ooo-Eee-Ooo, we love this music video! The old timey look is adorable and their clean cut matching sweaters are perfect.

Hit Me Baby One More Time - Britney Spears

It was really the start of a legacy and it was pretty epic. The schoolgirl hallway dance is one of the most memorable moments in a music video maybe ever? Also her distinctive 90s fluffy scrunchies are absolutely wonderful.

Cryin' - Aerosmith

Alicia Silverstone (AKA Cher Horowitz) stars in this super strange music video that also involves Stephen Tyler wearing a bizarre face mask. The whole thing is a little confusing, but at least you won't forget it!

Nothing Compares 2 U - Sinead O'Connor

There was no one like Sinead. She was truly one of a kind and this music video really helped proved that.

Waterfalls - TLC

TLC gave us this slightly sad video and song, but they are one that we still revisit all the time.

Around the World - Daft Punk

I don't know how to properly explain what's going on in the video, but I am sure that is part of the point. Give it a watch, and enjoy every moment of this completely ridiculous video.

Black or White - Michael Jackson

The video has Macaulay Culkin and Norm from Cheers, some lions, and that is just the tip of the iceberg. If there was one thing that Michael Jackson could do well it was make an epic video.

Vogue - Madonna

Such a glamorous and iconic video, and the start of a great dance trend. Who doesn't love this one?

My Name Is - Eminem

Eminem made a big impact and whether you love him or hate him, you have to admit that this song was EVERYWHERE when it came out.

Doo-Wop (That Thing) - Lauren Hill

The split between the 60s and the 90s show just how much the world has changed and it is really cool to watch.

No Rain - Blind Melon

This is one of those videos that starts off in the most bizarre ways, but then just stays weird and if anything gets weirder. The poor little girl is running around in her little bee costume and honestly I just want to know if she's okay.

Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana

Grunge was one of those definitively 90s things that we all remember fondly. Nirvana were arguably the biggest grunge band, or at least the most well-known. This song in particular seemed to have a decent amount of mainstream success even though it wasn't the same as everything else that was coming out at the time.
