Let's take a look at some of his performances that we love most.

1) Footloose (1984)

Paramount Pictures

The story of a town that outlaws dancing and the teenage hero who would save them all, this has easily remained a favorite for Bacon fans everywhere.

It's cheesy on all the right levels, Kenny Loggins delivers a killer soundtrack as usual, and Bacon absolutely shines in the lead role. It's such a classic it's even referenced in modern blockbusters like Guardians of the Galaxy.

2) A Few Good Men (1992)

Columbia Pictures

A military courtroom drama about two marine cadets who are accused of killing a fellow trainee, Kevin Bacon plays the prosecuting attorney, Capt. Jack Rose.

Columbia Pictures

While not the star of the show, Bacon demonstrates his acting chops in great form here, as he manages to keep up with a loaded cast of Tom Cruise, Jack Nicholson, Demi Moore, and Kiefer Sutherland.

3) Sleepers (1996)

Warner Bros.

Receiving top billing even over screen legends Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman, and Brad Pitt, Bacon turns in a sinister performance as Nokes, a juvenile detention center guard.

Warner Bros.

Nokes makes life a living Hell for a group of kids sentenced for a prank gone wrong, and torments them so utterly that years later, they return as men to seek their revenge. Bacon is completely and utterly terrifying in the role, and it holds up well to this day.

4) Tremors (1990)

Universal Pictures

While Bacon initially felt the film was a career low for him, Tremors has gone on to become a cult classic that more than tripled its box-office gross with sales and rentals. It's even bringing him back for a SyFy Channel remake!

Giphy

Bacon is both hilarious and awesome as Valentine "Val" McKee, a part-time laborer who has to help defend the town of Perfection against mysterious giant worm monsters that attack from underground. It may be cheesy and low-budget, but it's a great performance in a massively enjoyable movie.

5) Friday the 13th (1980)

Paramount Pictures

One of Bacon's earliest roles, his performance as Jack not only launched his career to wider audiences, but also helped launch one of the most iconic horror franchises of all time.

Paramount Pictures

His performance is solid, but what we all remember is him dying from an arrow through his chest. It's the stuff of horror legends!

Thanks for all the movies Kevin! Please keep entertaining us for years to come!

A Behind-The-Scenes Look At The New Aladdin Is Here And At Least One Of Our Wishes Was Granted

We've been waiting patiently, okay mostly patiently, since Disney announced that Aladdin was being remade. The cartoon remains one of the most iconic movies of all time, and the fact that they were going to try and bring it to life with real humans instead of the animated versions was kind of concerning. We saw the first trailer a while ago, but the only character we actually saw up close was Aladdin himself. We didn't see how the Genie looked, or Jasmine, or any of the other characters. But now, Entertainment Weekly has given us all the first look at

Tim Allen Reveals The Original Plan For 'The Santa Clause' Was Way Too Dark For Disney

We've all seen The Santa Clause at least a dozen times, right? It's a Christmas classic and ever since it was released, it has become a staple in our holiday movie schedule. There's something about the movie that manages to keep that Christmas feeling without being way too over the top or corny. I mean, sure, Tim Allen literally becomes Santa, but somehow it all feels like that's totally plausible. The sequels may not have the same realistic feeling, but the original remains iconic. However, Allen just revealed that the original plan for the movie was a lot darker than
