7 Things You Didn't Know About "Good Burger," Home Of The Good Burger

Paramount Pictures

“Welcome to Good Burger, home of the Good Burger, can I take your order?”

Paramount Pictures

Good Burger is one of those cult classics that still has an enormous fan-base even though it came out 20 years ago. Pretty much every 90s kid watched that movie and continues to watch that movie fairly regularly.

If you want to dive a bit deeper into the making Good Burger, check out these interesting behind-the-scenes facts and things you may not have noticed!

1. It was based on a skit from "All That"

The 1994 sketch comedy show that helped launch the careers of Amanda Bynes and Nick Cannon was where Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell first created their characters from Good Burger.

2. Kel actually got the job on "All That" by auditioning as his character from "Good Burger"

Paramount Pictures

He said that "I did a 'dude' voice, and that's where Ed was kind of born. I did that there at the audition. They were just cracking up."

3. A script has been written for a sequel, but it was turned down

It was going to be called Good Burger 2 Go, and it would have Ed and Dexter dealing with a British company that was trying to take over their franchise.

4. There was more than a thousand pounds of meat on set

According to Keenan Thompson there was a whole lot of meat on set at all times, he said that "At one point, there was over 1750 pounds of meat on the set," but a lot of it was gross. He explained, "It was so nasty. Some of the burgers would stay out there for a long time. I felt sorry for the extras who had to eat them with cold, clammy fries. But on screen, those burgers look good."

5. To make the food look better on screen they had to use different tricks that made it all inedible.

Those burgers were really not that good. Not only were they cold and old, but the ones that needed to be on display had to be covered in Elmer's glue to keep them looking good. Also, the ice cream was actually vegetable shortening with food coloring in it. Not exactly delicious.

6. Kenan and Kel had some control over the soundtrack

Kel even was on the song "We're All Dudes" by Less Than Jake. It actually made it onto the Billboard charts.

7. They reunited on "The Tonight Show" a couple years ago

After doing the sketch Mitchell said that "it felt like home."

Tim Allen Reveals The Original Plan For 'The Santa Clause' Was Way Too Dark For Disney

We've all seen The Santa Clause at least a dozen times, right? It's a Christmas classic and ever since it was released, it has become a staple in our holiday movie schedule. There's something about the movie that manages to keep that Christmas feeling without being way too over the top or corny. I mean, sure, Tim Allen literally becomes Santa, but somehow it all feels like that's totally plausible. The sequels may not have the same realistic feeling, but the original remains iconic. However, Allen just revealed that the original plan for the movie was a lot darker than
