Is Your Beauty And The Beast VHS Actually Worth Thousands?

Everyone would love to make a quick buck, but there aren't a lot of great options. Sure, we can try to win the lottery, but the chances are so slim. Obviously, we should just go to work and earn money slowly, but wouldn't it be great to just wake up with hundreds of thousands of dollars in the bank? Of course it would! Is it going to happen? Probably not.

Some people have been passing around the rumor that some old VHS tapes are worth a lot of money. There is a version of The Little Mermaid that can be worth a lot of money, but what about the equally-popular movie Beauty and the Beast? There are listings on Ebay of this movie that claim that the movie is worth $300,000, but could it be true? Could we all have 300k hiding in our basements?

Walt Disney Pictures

Beauty and the Beast came out in 1992. It was a really great cartoon musical that was super funny, but it also tried to teach kids not to judge people by how they looked.

The beast may have been this big scary-looking monster, but once Belle got to know him, she realized there was "something there that wasn't there before."

Some people joke that the movie is nothing more than Stockholm Syndrome, but let's not focus on that. We can agree that the songs are amazing, the characters are fun, and that having antlers in all of the decorating is an interesting choice.

As great as the movie is, could it really be worth more than a quarter of a million dollars?

The Black Diamond collection is often said to be worth a lot of money, but are these claims legitimate? Turns out they aren't always true.

There are a lot of listings for Beauty and the Beast, many of which are for thousands of dollars. You would think it would be based on the cover art or condition, but it all seems to be pretty random.

There are some that are selling for $5,000

Others for $10,000

Some are $46,500

And then of course the most expensive listing that claims it's worth $299,999

So what is it actually worth?

Beauty and the Beast is an amazing movie, but is it worth more than most people's houses? Not likely. If you check through the listings that actually managed to sell, it's not as much as they claim. Although you'll be happy to know it still has some value.

There was a listing that has sold for the highest value sold which had 3 copies of the tape for $4723! The only thing is, there's a chance that the buyer didn't actually pay that much, because they used the "Buy It Now" option. In their sales history it actually shows up as a sale of $4.75.

It seems like most of the sold listings have been purchased for much less than $1000, but are still selling for more than you bought it for back in 1992. Many listings are sold for around $100-$150, probably because people think they will be worth something one day.

So while you may not make a fortune off of it, it's still one of the greatest Disney movies of our time! So be our guest, put your salesmanship to the test!

A Behind-The-Scenes Look At The New Aladdin Is Here And At Least One Of Our Wishes Was Granted

We've been waiting patiently, okay mostly patiently, since Disney announced that Aladdin was being remade. The cartoon remains one of the most iconic movies of all time, and the fact that they were going to try and bring it to life with real humans instead of the animated versions was kind of concerning. We saw the first trailer a while ago, but the only character we actually saw up close was Aladdin himself. We didn't see how the Genie looked, or Jasmine, or any of the other characters. But now, Entertainment Weekly has given us all the first look at

Tim Allen Reveals The Original Plan For 'The Santa Clause' Was Way Too Dark For Disney

We've all seen The Santa Clause at least a dozen times, right? It's a Christmas classic and ever since it was released, it has become a staple in our holiday movie schedule. There's something about the movie that manages to keep that Christmas feeling without being way too over the top or corny. I mean, sure, Tim Allen literally becomes Santa, but somehow it all feels like that's totally plausible. The sequels may not have the same realistic feeling, but the original remains iconic. However, Allen just revealed that the original plan for the movie was a lot darker than
