First Full Trailer For The "Roseanne" Revival Is Finally Here
2018 is the year of the revivals. Over the last couple of months, there have been confirmation that many of our favorite television shows and films from the 80s and 90s will be given the reboot treatment, including Heathers to Charmed and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
But nothing got me more excited than finding out that Roseanne was scheduled to return to our screens.
Growing up, watching this sitcom was something my family regularly did together. We loved everything about the show because unlike a lot of other sitcoms, Roseanne was relatable. Just like us, the Conners were a middle-class working family, who had to deal with realistic problems. Plus, they handled everything in the most hilarious fashion.
The show ran for nine seasons with high ratings and won many awards over the years, including Emmys, Golden Globes, and Screen Actor's Guild Awards. So it wasn't much of a surprise that ABC took interest in Roseanne Barr's pitch for a tenth season.
Unlike some of the other revivals, it was confirmed that the original cast, including John Goodman, Sara Gilbert, John Galecki,Michael Fishman, Levy Goranson, and Laurie Metcalf, would be reuniting for it. However, this left us with a lot of questions, like how will they resurrect Dan Conner since he died of a heart attack in the series finale? And most importantly, when will the show air?
Over the last few months, most of our concerns were addressed, including how Dan will once again be a part of the show, and that the first episode will air in the same time slot as the final two and a half seasons did all those years ago, starting this March.
The cast has been teasing us with photos and videos from the set, and the network also released a number of promo clips to tease the show's return.
But we never got a full trailer, until now! The trailer for Roseanne's upcoming nine-episode 10th season dropped during the 2018 Oscars, and it finally explained how the new series will handle Dan's death.
The trailer pokes some fun at Dan's controversial death, and it looks like they're taking a light-hearted approach to that plot line.
Roseanne is shown shouting at Dan, who is in bed beside her wearing a CPAP machine for sleep apnea.
When he finally does wake up, she yells "I thought you were dead!'" to which Dan replies: "Why does everybody always think I'm dead?"
We also get a punch of nostalgia when the trailer shows us clips from the show's previous run.

It looks like ABC Entertainment's President, Channing Dungey, was right when he said that the show would be "very much tonally similar to the original," and that it will be "unflinching, honest, and irreverent at times."
"We want everybody to see something that doesn’t really exist on TV anymore - an honest family," the show's executive producer, Bruce Helford, said. "These people are very much the core of what’s going on in the country right now."
The hour-long episode will air at 8pm on March 27th.
