Hasta La Vista, Baby! Terminator 2: Judgment Day Is Coming Back To Theaters

If you're a fan of action movies or sci-fi, chances are that James Cameron's Terminator 2: Judgment Day has a special place in your heart.

Or your metal endoskeleton. Y'know, whichever.Imdb

Released a full 8 years after the original smash-hit that cemented the careers of both Cameron and star Arnold Schwarzenegger in Hollywood, Terminator 2 took the sci-fi noir of its predecessor and turned it into one of the best action movies of all time.

Blu-Ray Digest

The Governator returns as another T-800 android sent back from our desolate, nuclear apocalypse of a future. However, this time he's not here to kill John Connor; he's here to save him and his mother Sarah from the T-1000, a new type of Terminator android composed of liquid metal, that can change its shape and appearance at will.

The movie was the biggest box-office success of 1991, making over $500 Million worldwide, and it's hard not to see why. The action sequences still hold up well to this day, and for the time, the CG used to create the shape-shifting T-1000 were absolutely revolutionary. It even earned the movie a places in the Guinness World Records!

Of course, if you were a child of the 90s, chances are you weren't able to see this in theaters and had to catch it on video or TV. While it's an amazing movie no matter how you see it (especially the Director's Cut), wouldn't it be awesome if we could see it in theaters all over again?

Well, looks like Studio Canal had the same idea; Terminator 2 is coming back to theaters!

The Terminator 2 Facebook page announced this week that the film will be returning to theaters on August 25th, in order to mark the 20th Anniversary of when Skynet, the franchise's artificial intelligence antagonist that attempts to wipe out the human race, first becomes self-aware in the timeline of the series.

Studio Canal also confirmed that James Cameron himself helped oversee the film's new 4K conversion, as well as its 3D enhancement! The release will be exclusive to AMC Theaters for the first week thanks to a partnership they have with the studio, but will then be released in other theaters nationwide.

Loft Cinema

This isn't the first time something like this has happened to a major 90s blockbuster either. Jurassic Park, one of the best movies of the decade, was re-released in theaters with a 3D conversion for its 20th anniversary in 2013, and it looks like this trend has been profitable enough for other movies to follow suit.

The AV Club

We've obviously very excited about this. Terminator 2 is a genuine classic of action cinema, and getting to experience it in the theaters all over again, especially in 3D, sounds like a treat!

A Behind-The-Scenes Look At The New Aladdin Is Here And At Least One Of Our Wishes Was Granted

We've been waiting patiently, okay mostly patiently, since Disney announced that Aladdin was being remade. The cartoon remains one of the most iconic movies of all time, and the fact that they were going to try and bring it to life with real humans instead of the animated versions was kind of concerning. We saw the first trailer a while ago, but the only character we actually saw up close was Aladdin himself. We didn't see how the Genie looked, or Jasmine, or any of the other characters. But now, Entertainment Weekly has given us all the first look at

Tim Allen Reveals The Original Plan For 'The Santa Clause' Was Way Too Dark For Disney

We've all seen The Santa Clause at least a dozen times, right? It's a Christmas classic and ever since it was released, it has become a staple in our holiday movie schedule. There's something about the movie that manages to keep that Christmas feeling without being way too over the top or corny. I mean, sure, Tim Allen literally becomes Santa, but somehow it all feels like that's totally plausible. The sequels may not have the same realistic feeling, but the original remains iconic. However, Allen just revealed that the original plan for the movie was a lot darker than
