Alleged 'Mortal Kombat' Reboot Character List Gets Leaked, Throwing Fans Into A Panic

The movie Mortal Kombat was a pretty exciting thing back in the day. While it's pretty popular for movies to be made out of video games now, back in the 90s it was all still new. The thing was, the movie didn't turn out as great as everyone expected.

Critics hated it, and fans weren't completely sold on it either. While it made a decent amount of money, they kind of pushed their luck and made a sequel, seemingly killing the franchise.

But it seems as though enough time has passed, and Warner Bros. and New Line are ready to take another stab at the classic video game, once again bringing it to the big screen.

New Line Cinema

Recently, That Hashtag Show was able to discover the characters that would be making an appearance in the movie, and it turns out they are a lot different from the 90s version.

They've got an all-new character taking over as the lead, but there are also a few important characters that are missing. Series staples like Sub-Zero, Scorpion, and Johnny Cage are all missing.

However the producers and writer of the movie have all said that in no way should this list be taken as a final and complete version.

New Line Cinema

Producer, Todd Garner, explained that "all news is premature," but the screenwriter, Greg Russo, explained a little bit further. "This is NOT the full list of characters," Russo said on Twitter. "An insane amount of love & care has already gone into the project. As [a] guy who used to rule the arcade machine (Kitana all day), it’s in VERY good hands. Hopefully we get to make it soon...”

The movie is currently stalled in the production status, but in case you're curious as to what kind of characters to expect from the movie, we've got you covered.

JESS

"Female. 30-35. Cole’s judgmental sister-in-law, who believes Cole to be a selfish, bad father. She lives with Sophia and Emily."

We don't know when the movie will actually get made, but as the creators all said, obviously there is still room for changes.

Which missing character do you think should be added in?

Video game movies are often mediocre, but you know what else is risky? Making a game based on a movie. There have been a lot of examples where it turned out to be a very bad choice.

A Behind-The-Scenes Look At The New Aladdin Is Here And At Least One Of Our Wishes Was Granted

We've been waiting patiently, okay mostly patiently, since Disney announced that Aladdin was being remade. The cartoon remains one of the most iconic movies of all time, and the fact that they were going to try and bring it to life with real humans instead of the animated versions was kind of concerning. We saw the first trailer a while ago, but the only character we actually saw up close was Aladdin himself. We didn't see how the Genie looked, or Jasmine, or any of the other characters. But now, Entertainment Weekly has given us all the first look at

Tim Allen Reveals The Original Plan For 'The Santa Clause' Was Way Too Dark For Disney

We've all seen The Santa Clause at least a dozen times, right? It's a Christmas classic and ever since it was released, it has become a staple in our holiday movie schedule. There's something about the movie that manages to keep that Christmas feeling without being way too over the top or corny. I mean, sure, Tim Allen literally becomes Santa, but somehow it all feels like that's totally plausible. The sequels may not have the same realistic feeling, but the original remains iconic. However, Allen just revealed that the original plan for the movie was a lot darker than
