The show is coming back and we are pretty excited. There isn't a whole lot of information about the series yet but we do know a few things.

The Magic School Bus is one of the best shows of our childhoods so it's a little nerve-wracking that they would be bringing it back. It feels like it was just yesterday that we were all gathered around a big TV on a cart learning about the solar system or dinosaurs in school.

PBS

A lot of us remember watching the show both at home and at school, because The Magic School Bus successfully made learning fun. It was a lot like Bill Nye the Science Guy in that teachers would often use it in class to help make things easier to grasp.

PBS

As much as we may be protective over one of the shows that shaped our childhood, they have decided that new generation deserves to experience it themselves. While they can (and absolutely should) watch the original series, they are actually going to make a brand new series specifically for Netflix.

PBS

The show will be called The Magic School Bus Rides Again and will feature Ms. Frizzle taking her class on a brand new series of field trips.

Lily Tomlin was the voice of the original Ms. Frizzle, but the new show has found a new actress to play the iconic teacher. Kate McKinnon will be taking over the role and seeing as how she has been basically amazing in everything she's done it's easy to feel like she will do a good job.

The show is planning one big change from the original. They have decided to go with a more CGI route instead of the traditional animation of the first show.

But when can you expect this new version? Well it's just around the corner! Netflix is planning on releasing the series in September! It will have 26 half-hour episodes and there are rumors that some of the original voices will be back to join McKinnon.

What do you think? Will you be tuning in to their next field trip?
