Victoria Beckham Gave Us An Update On The Spice Girls Reunion But You Aren't Going To Like It

Just when your hopes start to rise and the sun starts to come out on these dark days, there is always someone there to close the curtains. Even though we have been hearing all about the Spice Girls reunion for the last two weeks, and fans have been completely freaking out about it, apparently we've all gotten way ahead of ourselves.

We've wondered for years how Victoria Beckham, the most reluctant Spice Girl, would handle a reunion. She's been saying for years that she would never perform again, but there was always this little spark of hope. This spark was ignited when all five Spice Girls and their manager were spotted having lunch together.

We thought that the exciting news they said they were discussing would be a tour, but now, Posh Spice is speaking up and you aren't going to like what she has to say...

After getting our hopes up for a couple of weeks, Beckham has now smashed them into a million pieces. She spoke with Vogue to promote her new autumn/winter 2018 collection and she said some truly tragic things.

“I’m not going on tour. The girls aren’t going on tour,” Beckham said, crushing our hopes and dreams.

“It was so great to see the girls. We had such a fun lunch. It was really, really, really lovely. I still speak to them all individually, but for us all to get together was really lovely.” Beckham said, while she explained that a tour was never going to be happening.

But just because there is no tour, that doesn't mean that nothing is happening. She did explain that the point of the lunch was to come up with a new idea. “There’s something so strong in the message of what the Spice Girls stood for. What is that in the future? What does that look like? We were just bouncing ideas around. Brainstorming.”

She was asked if a sequel to Spice World was at all a potential and she joked, “Is that what you really, really want?" I speak on behalf of all of us when I say yes, it really, really is. "I remember that movie. I was so upset when they made me wear that tight little army dress. And Harper Beckham, who’s only watched Spice World once, says, ‘Mummy, I love that bit when everyone’s in the really cool clothes and you’re in the tight little army dress!’”

Columbia Pictures

“It’s a positive thing,” Beckham continued, talking about the reunion in whatever form it ends up in. “You know, there’s so much bad stuff going on, and the Spice Girls were about fun and celebrating individuality. I think there’s so much that the brand can do, and it’s such a positive message for young kids. What does that look like in the future? It’s not me in a cat-suit.”

So there you have it, no tour. But at least we know that there is going to be something in the works. Anything the Spice Girls make is sure to be amazing.
