The Secret Behind Mary Poppins And Bert's Relationship

Fan theories for the popular classic film Mary Poppins are once again circling due to the remake with Emily Blunt that is currently in the works. Fans have often wondered the history behind Mary Poppin's unlikely friend in the chimney sweep Bert. Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke are probably used to the questions, but now Emily Blunt is asked to give her opinion on the theory that fans have proposed. The fans have been questioning the "new Mary" what she thinks about the theory that Mary Poppins was Bert's nanny when he was a child.

The theory would explain a lot if that were true. The author of the original story requested that any romantic connections be removed from the film, that must be for a reason! Also, Bert knows Mary Poppins and joins right in with her shenanigans, including the song "Supercaligragilisticexpialidocious". In the song he even mentions how he learned the word as a child.

When I was just a lad/My father gave me nose a tweak/And told me I was bad/ But then one day I learned a word/That saved me achin' nose/The biggest word I ever heard/And this is how it goes, oh/ Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

The sequel starring Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins is set many years later with the magical nanny checking back on Banks kids. That must mean Mary Poppins doesn't age, because Emily Blunt is obviously around the same age Julie Andrews was when they made the original. So if Mary Poppins hasn't aged since then, who knows how many years she was a nanny before the Banks kids!

Emily Blunt is on board with the fan theory, calling it a "lovely notion". When asked if she thought it was at all possible she stated "Oh, I do. I really do. I think that's a very lovely possibility." She joins the 90% of voters on the Huffington Post's poll who agree that this is very possible.

What do you think? Was Mary the nanny of a young Bert or is there some other possibility we haven't thought of yet? Share with your friends and see what they think!

We saw the first trailer a while ago, but the only character we actually saw up close was Aladdin himself. We didn't see how the Genie looked, or Jasmine, or any of the other characters. But now, Entertainment Weekly has given us all the first look at

Tim Allen Reveals The Original Plan For 'The Santa Clause' Was Way Too Dark For Disney

We've all seen The Santa Clause at least a dozen times, right? It's a Christmas classic and ever since it was released, it has become a staple in our holiday movie schedule. There's something about the movie that manages to keep that Christmas feeling without being way too over the top or corny. I mean, sure, Tim Allen literally becomes Santa, but somehow it all feels like that's totally plausible. The sequels may not have the same realistic feeling, but the original remains iconic. However, Allen just revealed that the original plan for the movie was a lot darker than
