It Was One Of The Biggest Shows Of The '90s, But Are The Original Power Rangers Still Ready To Morph Into Action?

Saban

Premiering on TV in 1993, Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers was a genuine phenomenon in North America. Taking footage of Japanese Super Sentai shows and adding their own footage to them, kids loved the show for its cast of characters, over the top action, and cool monsters. It's been nearly 25 years since the show premiered, so what are the cast up to these days?

Richard Steven Horvitz - Alpha 5

Horvitz played the voice of Alpha for several seasons before moving on to other projects, becoming an accomplished voice actor in his own right! He's gone on to voice characters like Daggett in Angry Beavers, Zim in Invader ZIM, and Billy in The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy.

David Yost - Billy Cranston, The Blue Ranger

Saban

After several years on the show, Yost was unfortunately written out of the show after he stormed off set one day, due to his frustration with being mocked by the cast and crew for being openly gay. He declined to return for the show's 20th anniversary, but does continue to appear at conventions and enjoy meeting fans.

Amy Jo Johnson - Kimberly Hart, The Pink Ranger

Saban

Johnson has remained the most active actor out of the Power Rangers cast, playing Kimberly for a number of years before moving on to other projects. She played Keri Russell's best friend Julie in Felicity, and has had major roles in shows like The Division, Flashpoint, and Criminal Affairs.

Comic Con

Walter Jones - Zack Taylor, The Black Ranger

Saban

Jones has remained an actor as well, appearing in shows like The Shield, Malibu Shores, and Space Cases. In solidarity with his co-star and friend David Yost, he also declined to return for the show's 20th anniversary.

Thuy Trang - Trini Kwan, The Yellow Ranger

Saban

The most unfortunate story of the cast, Trang continued acting (appearing in The Crow: City of Angels), studying martial arts, and corresponding with her former Power Rangers castmates, before tragically dying in a car crash in September 2001.

Saban

Jason David Frank - Tommy Oliver, The Green/White Ranger

Saban

Tommy would continue to show up in other Power Rangers series (even briefly becoming the Red Ranger at one point), making him the longest-running Ranger in the franchise. Frank himself is now an MMA fighter, regularly appears at conventions (while decked out in his Power Rangers tattoos), and has expressed an interest in rebooting the Green Ranger in a solo movie.

Bonus - Bryan Cranston

Did you know that the former Malcolm in the Middle and Breaking Bad star regularly voiced the monsters that the Rangers would fight every week?
