15 Movies From The Early 2000s That Still Make Us Grab The Popcorn

Pixar

We were all under the impression that the world would end at the turn of the century. Luckily it didn't, or else we would've missed all these great films.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

The first movie of the Harry Potter franchise was a huge box office success, generating almost one billion dollars worldwide! This fantasy, action story is packed with compelling characters and an exciting storyline.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Although it's a remake of the beloved Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971), it's arguably the better one. A fantasy like this requires quality effects that were not able to be achieved in the 70s. Also, Johnny Depp's acting was on point.

Requiem for a Dream

It's by far one of the best psychological dramas ever made. It follows the lives of four people who are addicted to four different drugs. The acting will blow you away.

Catch Me If You Can

Leonardo Di Caprio's role as Frank Abagnale was immaculate. Probably the most interesting part about this movie is that it's based on a true story. Abagnale conned millions of dollars by posing as a Pan American World Airways pilot, a doctor, and a parish prosecutor. He eventually got caught, but he was so good that the FBI asked for his help to catch other check forgers.

The Matrix Reloaded

This science fiction action film, which is the sequel to The Matrix, will always be at the top of any science fiction movie list.

Spider-Man

No movie list is complete without a superhero film. This movie's mix of action, science fiction, romance, and comedy appeals to every demographic.

The Incredibles

Not everyone is crazy about animated films, but this one is an exception. It received two Academy Awards and became the first animated film to win the prestigious Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation.

These next ones are on the top of our list.

The Pianist

This has to be director Roman Polanski's movie masterpiece. It's based on the real story of Polish-Jewish pianist and composer Wladyslaw Szpilman. The movie is heartbreaking and extraordinary.

Mean Girls

This movie is "so fetch." We're still making Mean Girls references to this day. It's a teenage chick-flick comedy loved by any gender.

A Beautiful Mind

A Beautiful Mind depicts the life of John Nash, a Nobel Laureate in Economics. It's based on the book, which won the Pulitzer Prize in 1998. It also won four Academy Awards. You get the point, the movie is pretty good.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

Based on J.R.R. Tolkien's epic fantasy adventure, this movie will transport you to another world. It's filled with complex characters and a fast-paced storyline.

Kill Bill V.1

Quentin Tarantino gives us a riveting crime story with some great sword fighting scenes. It's about a former assassin, known as The Bride, who wakes from a coma and is filled with a raging desire to kill those who harmed her while she was pregnant on her wedding day.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

A man discovers that his girlfriend's memory of their relationship has been erased. Now he wants his own memories to also disappear, and so the love story begins....

Spy Kids

If you've watched this one as a kid or with your kids, it's hard to hate. We all secretly wish we were spies and could save the world.

Cast Away

To survive or not to survive, that is the question. We all joke about being stranded on a tropical, deserted island. It may be all right for a few days, but what about four years?!

A Behind-The-Scenes Look At The New Aladdin Is Here And At Least One Of Our Wishes Was Granted

We've been waiting patiently, okay mostly patiently, since Disney announced that Aladdin was being remade. The cartoon remains one of the most iconic movies of all time, and the fact that they were going to try and bring it to life with real humans instead of the animated versions was kind of concerning. We saw the first trailer a while ago, but the only character we actually saw up close was Aladdin himself. We didn't see how the Genie looked, or Jasmine, or any of the other characters. But now, Entertainment Weekly has given us all the first look at

Tim Allen Reveals The Original Plan For 'The Santa Clause' Was Way Too Dark For Disney

We've all seen The Santa Clause at least a dozen times, right? It's a Christmas classic and ever since it was released, it has become a staple in our holiday movie schedule. There's something about the movie that manages to keep that Christmas feeling without being way too over the top or corny. I mean, sure, Tim Allen literally becomes Santa, but somehow it all feels like that's totally plausible. The sequels may not have the same realistic feeling, but the original remains iconic. However, Allen just revealed that the original plan for the movie was a lot darker than
