5 Insane Plots From The Sweet Valley High Books That They Should Use For The New Movie
Who's ready for another reboot? I know what you're thinking, "every cartoon ever made has already been done, what's even left?" Well, there is still all the live action shows and let's not forget the books!
There were a lot of popular books when we were younger, but very few were as popular as Sweet Valley High. There were hundreds of books written about the Wakefield twins that eventually got turned into a TV show, but now it's getting a movie!
We don't know quite yet whether they plan on using one of the plot lines from the books or if they will create a new original story, but we do know who will be responsible for the script.
Harper Dill and Kristen Smith have been asked to create the script for the Sweet Valley High movie which is pretty exciting if you knew what they had written.
Dill currently writes for the Fox sitcom The Mick, while Smith wrote the iconic Legally Blonde and 10 Things I Hate About You. Smith is also signed on to write the script for Sister Act 3! So hopefully it's in good hands!
They have a lot of source material to draw from if they want to redo an older story. There is a lot of crazy plot lines and bizarre elements that would make for a pretty weird movie. Here are just some of the stranger plots that you can find in those classic books.
How about the time that Jessica and Elizabeth inadvertently killed someone
At their prom, Jessica wants to win the prom queen title, so she spikes Elizabeth's drink so she won't win. Elizabeth leaves the prom with Sam, but then they get in a huge car crash and Sam dies.
Elizabeth is arrested and tried for the death, and even spends the night in jail with a prostitute. She does get off the hook after a surprise witness comes in and takes responsibility for the accident.
But still, Elizabeth and Jessica have to live with the fact that their pettiness over a high school crown caused someone to die.

What about the fact that Elizabeth was almost murdered by her boss
Elizabeth and Jessica get internships at a fashion magazine, but after a snafu with her manager she gets fired. The manager doesn't seem to want to let it go and literally hires someone to try to kill her by running her off the road.
When that doesn't work the manager gets Liz back into the office and then holds a gun to her but the police show up. That's pretty dramatic for a small workplace argument.

Another good option might be that time Jessica joined a cult
Jessica is having a rough time and goes to the one place all teens go to mope: The mall. There she meets a group of kids who call themselves "The Good Friends" and they tell her that Adam Marvel helped turn their lives around.
Jessica gets sucked in and helps them collect money for charity. She finds out that they aren't actually giving the money to anyone but she refuses to believe that Adam Marvel was bad.
Elizabeth infiltrates the group posing as Jessica to try to find out what's going on, but Adam Marvel had already invited the real Jessica to move with them to a new town. She agrees but just as they are about to leave Elizabeth and Todd show up and stop them. Adam Marvel is arrested and everything is just fine.
