12 Things From The '90s You Have To Explain To Your Kids

YouTube / The Commercial Dispatch

Ahhhh, the good ol' 90s. Full of surprise events and crazy products that had us scratching our heads. Now it's time to pass on the wisdom.

You'll have to explain everything to your kids, but here are 12 things they're going to be really confused about. As a parent, it's your job to clear things up.

1. This monstrosity:

There's no denying that these were comfortable, but how was this fashionable? Looking like I'm wearing my older brother's jeans is by no means attractive.

2. The floppy disk.

No kids, it's not the save button. How many times have you had to say that?

3. Comb headbands.

The real question here is, why did guys wear them? To be fair, David Beckham could pull off any hairstyle, wearing any kind of hair accessory.

4. *NSYNC vs. Backstreet Boys

We all know which one was better! Let's be serious, can anyone compete with the boy band who sang "Everybody" and "Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely?"

5. Heinz's colorful ketchup.

To our kids this looks gross, but it was super cool for us back in the '90s. These were our Tide Pods, but at least they were certified edible!

6. This sound:

Kids nowadays will freak out if they hear this sound, thinking that aliens are invading the world. It's dial-up, and we're so glad right now that it does sound alien. High-speed internet is a blessing.

Keeping reading, they just get better from here!

7. Beepers or pagers.

First, sarcastically apologize for not being born when iPhones and Androids with facial recognition were a thing, then proceed to explain that beepers or pagers were used to let people know to call you, or so you would know to call someone back. You could also send simple codes that sent a secret message. Beat THAT, emojis!

8. Collecting POG discs.

These weren't useless cardboard bottle caps, they actually had a useful purpose. The popular game of pogs spread like wildfire in the '90s. You've got to explain the game to your kids or else they won't get it.

9. Why the O.J. trial was watched by more than 90 million people.

He was clearly guilty, that's why!

10. Why Bop It toys are better than fidget spinners.

First, they had a catchy song to go with it that went like this: "Bop it, twist it, pass it." Second, they required you to do this with a friend. Friendship was everything.

11. Friends wasn't the only '90s sitcom.

Where do I start? There was Full House, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Seinfeld, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Roseanne, and the list goes on and on.

12. Early '90s anti-marijuana PSAs.

Especially the part where the older lady says, "Do you wanna smoke a joint before trying this on."

Are you prepared to answer these answers?

The Evolution of the NFL

The NFL may be the single biggest sports league in the world, but it’s been a long and winding route to reach this point. Many of the major changes that have brought us here have taken place in the last thirty years, but none of these could have happened without what had gone before. For example, while there are now 32 teams split between the National Football League and the American Football Conference, this division dates back to merger that occurred in 1970 between the NFL and its rival the American Football League. And, while there have been countless
