Unfortunately, all those entertaining and funny shows you used to love are not that great if you take a closer look. I mean, it's not that they're bad, but there are some theories or facts that you can't help but ponder on, which really change your perspective about the show.

2. Doug and his mental disorders.
Doug, the sensitive boy who loves writing in his journal and spending time with his friends, may not be who you think he is. There is a theory that Doug has manic bipolar disorder, and his friends also suffer from some kind of mental disorder. This theory may seem far-fetched to some, but others adamantly believe this to be true.
"Doug was the original Emo kid. He sat in the corner of the park and wailed on his banjo, singing love songs about Patti Mayonaise. What do little kids do? Idolize cartoon characters. Emo, and the subsequent emo kids, are all Doug’s fault. Doug was emo; keeping a journal, getting his ass kicked by bullies, and wearing a sweater vest," one commentor said of the show.
3. Animaniacs and its untimely ending.
The most popular '90s cartoons attracted some big names in show biz and won many awards. The show lasted from 1993-1998, but many argue it ended too soon. You'd think the show would end because of ratings, but it was actually because of advertising and marketing. The show was mostly watched by adults, but advertising agencies were targeting products to kids. For that reason, a lack of sales caused the show to end too soon.
4. Teletubbies and their height.
Teletubbies bounced onto our screens in the late '90s, and the only thing that made these cute creatures lovable were the idea that they were small. Sorry to break it to you, but these creatures are extremely tall, like 10ft tall. Now that's quite terrifying. Your childhood dream of meeting one just got CRUSHED.
5. The Fairly Oddparents and anti-depressants.
Before the show premiered on Nickelodeon in 2001, it was in the form of cartoon shorts in the late '90s. The show is entertaining and funny for kids, but if you take a close look at what the story is really about, it's actually quite sad. Timmy is essentially neglected by his parents and tortured by his babysitter. There's a theory that the fairies in his life are representations of anti-depressants (Zoloft and Prozac), who help Timmy deal with the issues in his life.
6. Rocko's Modern Life and sexual innuendos.
In the early '90s, mostly kids were watching this show, and yet the creators of Rocko's Modern Life were getting away with adult humor. Remember when Rocko was moonlighted as a phone sex operator... The first season was particularly notable for doing this, and the other seasons just dumbed down on the sexual innuendos.
7. Pokemon and giving kids seizures.
This '90s TV sensation made us all Pokemon-crazed. Unfortunately, it had some devastating effects for some kids. One particular episode sent more than 700 children to the hospital. It was the one where Ash and his friends stop the villains from inside a Pokemon transmitter machine. All that noise and flashing light gave hundreds of kids seizures or nausea. The show had to be pulled from the air.
