Hey, So Haley Joel Osment Is Still Hanging Around And He's Having A Time

We all remember Haley Joel Osment, right? He was the kid from Sixth Sense, Pay It Forward, and Secondhand Lions.

Our hearts were totally ripped out when he died in Pay It Forward, and it's the first time I remember ugly crying during a film.

At 12 years old, Osment was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Performance by an Actor In A Supporting Role for Sixth Sense, where he uttered the iconic line "I see dead people."

It seemed like Osmet was on track to become one of the best actors of his generation. He was growing up in front our eyes.

Hollywood Take

Then, the inevitable happened, and the child star was no longer a child. In 2006, Osment was charged with a DUI at 18 years old, something he took full responsibility for.

"With regard to that incident, whatever attention has been given to it, I brought it upon myself," he said at the time. "So I would definitely not say that my childhood in this business caused that in any way but the response to it is definitely something that is affected by my place in the business. So for me it was a good lesson. You can't blame the press for giving attention to incidents like that. It was an extremely important learning experience for me to try and stay in check and do the right things, like I always should."

After his arrest, it seemed like Osment left the limelight for a little bit. He gave his voice to some video games, but not a whole lot more. Eventually he started to act again, but it never garnered a ton of attention.

So what is Haley Joel Osment up to now, besides being known as "Emily Osment from Hannah Montana's brother?"

In 2008, Osment played a heroin addict in American Buffalo on Broadway, and acknowledged that being a child star can be difficult.

"When you're a kid and you grow up, it takes some time for people to associate you with more things other than that initial thing," he told the Calgary Herald. "So it's a challenge but I've been lucky enough to do a lot of projects recently that are all over the map."

He also took a role as a Nazi in the 2016 film Yoga Horses.

ABC News

Osment also revealed that being recognized in public is as big of an issue as it used to be.

"It is more relaxing not being noticed as much," he said. "Also, it's not just that I'm not recognizable. I think people relate better when you're older, because I think they have more respect for your age. As time goes on, I think people are becoming more respectful out in public. So it's never been a problem. It's just been interesting to watch."

Noteably

Most recently, Osment found himself in trouble with the law after the Super Bowl. According to TMZ, the former child star missed his flight out of Las Vegas on Sunday night, and was put on standby for a flight on Monday. Osment showed up Monday and the flight was full, which is when he totally lost it.

Apparently, Osment got so rowdy that police had to be called. He was screaming in the fact of the gate agent and eventually left before police arrived. He returned an hour later to start yelling again, and even screamed "I'LL DESTROY YOU!" at the agent. Cops were once again called, but he fled by the time he got there.

Osment will be starring in the upcoming Ted Bundy film, titled Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, which features Zac Efron as the infamous serial killer.

What's the last thing you remember seeing Haley Joel Osment in?
