11 Things Macaulay Culkin Admitted In His Candid Reddit AMA

He may no longer be as famous as he was back in the '90s when he starred as Kevin McAllister in the Home Alone films, but Macaulay Culkin is still making headlines.

At 37 years old, the former child star is making a comeback of sorts. In addition to appearing in a number of films and television shows, including performing voice work for the sketch comedy Robot Chicken, Culkin also plays in a band called The Pizza Underground, and recently launched a podcast called Bunny Ears.

Hello Giggles

He has been promoting his new project by giving interviews, and to everyone's surprise, the notoriously private star has been revealing some intimate details during these chats.

During a recent appearance on Marc Maron's WTF Podcast, he discussed his relationship with his late "best friend" Michael Jackson, his god-daughter Paris, as well as his abusive father, Kit.

Now, just a few days after that discussion, Culkin took to Reddit to participate in an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session. He answered questions about everything, from Home Alone to his alleged addiction.

Here are 11 things we learned about Culkin during his candid Q&A session:

1. The first Home Alone is his favorite

Nerdist

Culkin explained that the first Christmas movie was "more fun" than the sequel because "We didn't know what we were walking into and it was a lot less flying all over the place; it was all in Chicago."

He also got a bit political when he added, "Also it had 100 [percent] less Trump."

2. He would like to see a remake

The former child star didn't confirm whether or not he'd star in the remake, but he did say that he supports the idea. However, he does have one condition: "Only if it was set in the woods, à la Rambo."

3.  He wasn't addicted to drugs

NY Daily News

When a user asked about his alleged substance abuse, Culkin admitted that it was never as serious as the media made it out to be.

“Yes, I consumed and imbibed in drugs in my life," he said. "Never as bad as people said. It's not really a thing in my life right now. I'm an adult. I like to drink.”

There's a lot more he reveals about himself...

4. He still cherishes his friendship with the late M.J.

Refinery29

Culkin met The King of Pop while working on The Nutcracker, and the two became closer shortly after the release of Home Alone. Their highly publicized friendship was so strong that Jackson chose him as his daughter's godfather. So naturally, when Culkin was asked to share a favorite memory he has of Jackson, he didn't hesitate.

He recounted a short and silly story that he remembers fondly: "When I almost crashed my golf cart into his and he called me ‘Applehead.'”

5. He loves pizza, just like Kevin

Elite Daily

Culkin's love of the pie inspired his band's name The Pizza Underground. He also revealed that his favorite pizza joint is "always Joe's Pizza (in NYC)." Apparently, he likes "a proper plain."

"That's how you can judge a place," he added. "I've been with lots of vegetarians so I can get with that, but I wouldn't kick a pepperoni and sausage out of bed."

6. He's an avid reader

When asked what "inspires" him, Culkin listed a number of books, including "The Little Prince," which he called a childhood favorite, "Catcher In The Rye," which fans used to send him copies of, and the comic book "Watchmen."

7. He's a fan of '90s video games

Culkin also revealed that he plays video games "on a daily basis" and the '90s game ToeJam & Earl is his favorite. He is also currently playing another '90s game called Star Fox 64.

8. He had a crush on Kelly Kapowski

Moviefone

Well, this one shouldn't come as a surprise because every girl wanted to be her, and every boy had a crush on Saved By The Bell's Kelly Kapowski.

Culkin's revelation occurred when a user confessed to having a "huge crush" on him, and he replied, “Is your name Kelly Kapowski?”

9. He doesn't like talking about his romantic relationships

Us Weekly

Culkin told Redditors that he didn't have a "biggest regret," before adding, "but most of my regrets involve women." The actor is reportedly dating former Disney star Brenda Song, and prior to that he was linked to Mila Kunis. He was once married to Supernatural actress Rachel Miner.

10. He's taking another break from acting

Don't expect to see Culkin on screen or on stage anytime soon because he is once again shying away from acting, which he now considers a hobby, and is "not looking for any gigs." After all, he has a brand new podcast (co-hosted with actor Matt Cohen) to focus on. The comedy podcast, described as "a weekly discussion of things and stuff and things," is available on iTunes.

11. He is definitely happy

After 15 Years Apart, BBMak Are Finally "Back Here" Again

As the 90s faded out, and the new millennium rushed forward, a lot changed. Clothes became very shiny, hair became excessively straightened, and people started to get cellphones. There was one thing that didn't change right away though, and that was that boy bands still reigned supreme. Backstreet Boys and *Nsync were obviously the two biggest groups who were constantly in a battle for the crown, but there was an entire league of boy bands that had a whole bunch of hits that a lot of us were completely obsessed with. BBMak was one of those bands. While they may

Snaps for us, because Elle Woods is coming back into our lives in a big way! That's right, Legally Blonde is coming back and we are psyched! It's been 15 years since we last saw Elle and her best buddy Bruiser, but with news that the franchise is coming back for a part three we can't help but get excited. MGM*Disclaimer: I do however want to point out that I refuse to accept that Bruiser will not be a part of it. I know 15 years is a long time for a dog, but maybe she cloned him I

There's A Depressing Story In The Background Of 'Shrek' That We All Completely Missed

Shrek was one of those movies that took the world by storm and honestly never let it go. Somehow the ridiculous and wonderful digitally animated movie managed to become one of the most quotable and frequently referenced films from our childhood. DreamworksThe thing about the movie was that when we were kids, there was a lot of stuff that we happened to miss. A lot of jokes completely slipped past our little innocent brains, but if you try to watch it now you'll be a little bit surprised by what happened. But the one I want to discuss today is

What year is it again? With the fanny pack as the new "it" bag, Sony bringing back the original PlayStation, the Backstreet Boys releasing new music, and shows like Party of Five returning to our television screens, I don't blame you for double checking that the calendar says 2018, not 1998. There's a serious 90s revival going on at the moment and so many of the things we loved, hated or just loved to hate, are once again becoming part of our lives. 'Mermaids' Was The Weirdest Movie Of The 90s But No One Remembers It

There are a lot of forgotten movies from our childhood. Some probably deserve to be forgotten, while others were too weird so they were just not appreciated as much as they should have been. One of these often ignored movies was the 1990 movie Mermaids. Sure, it's not really about mermaids specifically, but if there is any human in the world who is basically a real-life mermaid, it would be Cher. It's definitely a weird movie though, I mean, do you even remember how insane the plot was? Cher stars in this bizarre story about an unconventional family in the
