Everett Collection

You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have The Facts of Life! The classic show began in 1979 and thanks to nine great seasons it became a cultural icon.

NBC

We were all super invested in these characters after spending the better part of a decade with them, but have you kept up with them all? What have they been up to since?

Charlotte Rae - Edna Garret

NBC

She was the cornerstone of the show after it was spun-off from Diff'rent Strokes. She went off to live at Eastland School with all these other characters, but what has the actress been up to since?

After The Facts of Life ended, she has been doing a fair number of voice-over work. She even played Nanny in the cartoon TV show version of 101 Dalmations. More recently she has appeared in ER, Pretty Little Liars, and Girl Meets World.

Lisa Whelchel - Blair Warner

NBC

The rich and rebellious girl was eventually rewritten to be more or "daddy's girl" after Jo was introduced.

After the show ended she too a long break from acting. She returned in 2001 to play Blair once again in the The Facts of Life Reunion, but then didn't do anything else until 2013. She has however, started doing a few TV movies. Instead of acting, she spent a lot of time writing music and books on parenting. She also had a run on season 22 of Survivor, where she came in second place.

What about the rest of the ladies you know and love?

Kim Fields - Tootie Ramsey

NBC

The youngest of the group, Tootie, was known for her catchphrase "We are in trou-ble!" Tootie went through some of the bigger issues on the show, including one episode where she was almost forced into prostitution.

After the show ended, she went on to do a lot of smaller parts in a bunch of popular shows, including The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Kenan & Kel, and The Drew Carey Show. She was recently a contestant on Dancing with the stars and finished in 8th place, and was also on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

Mindy Cohn - Natalie Green

NBC

Natalie Green was Tootie's best friend, and also dealt with some big issues. She was almost sexually assaulted in one episode and was also one of the first of the girls to lose their virginity.

Since the show ended she has found another iconic role to hop into: Velma Dinkley from the Scooby-Doo franchise. She does the voice for many of the animated films that have come out. She also has been in a few independent films as well as some smaller parts on TV shows.

Nancy McKeon - Jo Polniaczek

NBC

Jo didn't arrive until the second season, but she was a big presence. She clashed with Blair and their constant problems were the main factor in a lot of episodes.

The actress continued to act after the show, primarily in TV movies with her last coming out in 2011. She did however decline the reunion movie that was made, saying that "I'm just not a fan of that kind of thing. I would not watch it, so why would I be IN it? It's just never the same."
