The Greatest Christmas Movie Of All Time Is Getting A Children's Book And We Need It Now

Released in 1988 and ultimately spawning an entire franchise, Die Hard has recently beat out Christmas classics like How The Grinch Stole Christmas and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation in the minds (and hearts) of the internet for the title of "The Greatest Christmas Movie Ever."

FOX

Sure, the only thing that really links it to Christmas is the fact that it takes place during the holidays (and starts out at an office Christmas party), but that doesn't matter! It's one of the greatest action movies ever made and launched Bruce Willis's career as a big-screen tough guy.

FOX

Not only that but it also features Alan Rickman as Hans Gruber, one of the singularly most entertaining villains in movie history!

FOX

Of course there's also Carl Winslow from Family Matters as Sgt. Al Powell, a beat cop who's trying to make amends for accidentally shooting a civilian while on duty.

FOX

And who could forget Argyle?

FOX

The only unfortunate thing is, this Christmas movie is pretty hard to introduce your kids to. Y'know, what with the swearing and violence and all.

FOX

Wouldn't it be great if there was some way for your little ones to get the full experience without having to warp their tiny little minds? Well apparently comedian Doogie Horner agrees, because he's publishing Die Hard as a Christmas book this October!

Wait'll you see how this book looks...

Adapted by Horner and illustrated by cartoonist JJ Harrison, A Die Hard Christmas: The Illustrated Holiday Classic take the look and feel of the classic children's story 'Twas The Night Before Christmas and uses it to retell the story of John McClane and company.

The whole thing looks absolutely gorgeous, and has a pretty good tongue-in-cheek sense of humor about what it is.

io9

Okay, so maybe your kids still shouldn't read it given it still has plenty of blood and swearing, but even then, it'll probably make someone very happy to get this under the tree!

io9

A Die Hard Christmas: The Illustrated Holiday Classic will be released on October 18th and is expected to retail for $17 US. But if you just can't wait, you can pre-order it here

A Behind-The-Scenes Look At The New Aladdin Is Here And At Least One Of Our Wishes Was Granted

We've been waiting patiently, okay mostly patiently, since Disney announced that Aladdin was being remade. The cartoon remains one of the most iconic movies of all time, and the fact that they were going to try and bring it to life with real humans instead of the animated versions was kind of concerning. We saw the first trailer a while ago, but the only character we actually saw up close was Aladdin himself. We didn't see how the Genie looked, or Jasmine, or any of the other characters. But now, Entertainment Weekly has given us all the first look at

Tim Allen Reveals The Original Plan For 'The Santa Clause' Was Way Too Dark For Disney

We've all seen The Santa Clause at least a dozen times, right? It's a Christmas classic and ever since it was released, it has become a staple in our holiday movie schedule. There's something about the movie that manages to keep that Christmas feeling without being way too over the top or corny. I mean, sure, Tim Allen literally becomes Santa, but somehow it all feels like that's totally plausible. The sequels may not have the same realistic feeling, but the original remains iconic. However, Allen just revealed that the original plan for the movie was a lot darker than
