8 Things Today's Teenagers Will Have Never Seen

classicrock961

Teenagers today missed out on a lot of stuff, sure they just have the better, upgraded version of what we had growing up, but they never got to experience where that all came from. Here are eight things today's teenagers would have never remembered.

1. Blockbuster

Today's teenagers will never get to experience the thrill of getting to rent a blockbuster movie, or even having their trusty blockbuster membership card in their wallets at all times. Sure, maybe none of us went to Blockbuster at the end, and maybe we would rather die then have Netflix traded in for Blockbuster, but it will still always have a special place in our hearts.

2. A phone book

I don't know if it was just my household, but we always had like six of these all around the house. Sure, these were kind of helpful but it took forever to find anyone's phone number. The perks of this were that you could find kids in your classes home phone numbers and prank call them. This was when caller ID didn't exist so you would never get caught. You would just have to hope they answered the phone and not their parents.

3. Phones attached to the wall

Every kitchen had a phone attached to the wall, and maybe in a few other rooms as well. I always remember not being able to go in the kitchen before dinner time because my mom would be on the phone, while trying to cook dinner and cord would create an obstacle course in the kitchen.

4. Lime Wire

The year is 2003, Apple Music and Spotify don't yet exist. You can finally download music onto your MP3, and it is exciting. Your choices are either paying $1.29 for each song or illegally downloading all the music you want for free. In comes Lime Wire, your dream come true. I don't know if we were really naive and actually didn't know it was illegal, or just didn't care. Either way, it was awesome.

5. Kid Pix

Today's teenagers will not ever remember playing around with Kid Pix during computer class in elementary school. Okay, I actually don't know if Kid Pix is still a thing in elementary school but even if it is, there no way it's anything like it used to be. I remember when my teacher would tell the class we could use the last 20 minutes to go on Kid Pix, and there wasn't a better feeling than that.

6. The original texting

Before every teenager had a cell phone, we had to improvise. We would pass notes in class to communicate, and it was the most exhilarating experience you could imagine. Passing a note and hoping it would get to the right person, while also avoiding the teacher's eyes was a priceless time that cell phones just can't compare with.

7.  The Walkman

If you were a teenager in the late 90s, you probably owned a CD-Walkman. Although these never fit in your pocket so you had to carry them around in your hand everywhere you went, these were awesome at the time. Of course, with the Walkman you had those classic headphones, you know the one's I'm talking about.

8. 90s style

The decade of grunge, we saw so much denim, leather, and even low-rise jeans with crop tops. This is not guaranteed that we will never see this style again, we're slowly seeing some of our favorite 90s styles making a come back. We can only hope for only thing: That low-rise jeans and crop tops never make a come back.

What's your favorite memory today's teens wouldn't remember?

Mike Meyers Shared An Update About 'Austin Powers 4' And It's Totally "Groovy, Baby"

When you think of the ultimate man of mystery, who do you think of? James Bond? No of course not. Ethan Hunt? Nope, not even close. The obvious answer is Austin Powers. When Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery came out back in 1997, it felt almost like there was a shift in the world. Suddenly, this ridiculous comedy became all anyone could talk about. It was unexpected, but you know what, it was worth it because the movie was awesome. Making references and jokes to the movie became common place, and you couldn't really ever say the words "one

NFL in the 90s. The Golden Years of FootballIf you can cast your mind back to what the NFL was like in the 90’s, you can perhaps remember some of the great teams and players of the time, not to mention some of the important milestones as well. Brace Yourself: The Backstreet Boys Released A New Song And Are Going On A World Tour

The Backstreet Boys have been one of the biggest bands in the country, well, the world for several decades now. After getting their start in the early 90s, they've managed to be one of the very few bands that has stuck together and continued performing. They didn't need a big reunion, because they didn't break up. Well, let's just pretend like that whole Kevin fiasco didn't happen. But anyways, they've been putting out music and performing together for 25 years now, and they have no intention of stopping. To be fair, they did warn of this two decades ago. They
