10 Things From The '70s We All Had That Are Worth A Fortune Today

Estate Sales

We all love a great throwback, but do we own any?

If you possess any of these '70s relics, you probably bought them for a few pennies or dollars back in in the day. Now some of these items are worth hundreds, and some are even thousands of dollars! Talk about a good investment!

Check out these 10 vintage items that'll get you searching in your attic, garage, or basement.

10. Alpine Man Pez Dispenser

There's two of these. The mustachioed figure in the green Alpine hat can be worth up to $3,000, whereas the clean-shaven man wearing a brown cap is said to be worth much more.

9. Vintage Furniture

IKEA seems so basic now. The furniture is pretty decent and affordable, but if you want to purchase something that was only sold in the '70s, it's going to cost you thousands.

This pair of original "clam chairs" has sold for approximately $60,000! Seriously, if you have any vintage IKEA furniture, sell it online!

8. Vintage Kitchen Supplies

Some kitchen supplies are worth a lot of dough, and I'm not talking about the baking kind. Sets of colorful Pyrex dishes with intricate patterns can go for thousands of dollars, and some single bowls will sell for a few hundred of dollars too. For example, one Christmas bowl is going for $370 on eBay.

7. Vinyl Music

It really depends on the artist, but some vinyls are being sold for thousands of dollars! The reason for that is because there's not a lot in circulation.

The Sex Pistols were dropped by their label in the '70s, but before that, 25,000 copies of the band's "God Save the Queen" single was released. Only nine copies have surfaced on the internet, and now everyone wants their hands on this record. In 2003, a copy with a paper sleeve sold for approximately $17,600!

David Bowie's Diamond Dogs LP is worth a little less, but much more than what people first paid for it. In 2003, an original sold on eBay sold for more than $3,000.

6. The Addams Family Lunchbox

Metal lunchboxes are nowhere as cool as they used to be, but some people would beg to differ. The popular sitcom The Addams Family was a family favorite, and King Seeley's cartoon depiction of the characters can be worth a few hundred of dollars. If you have the matching thermos, even better!

These next ones will have you singing "dolla, dolla, bills ya'll."

5. The First "Star Wars" Comic Book

These comics were worth just pennies in 1977, but now they're worth thousands of dollars. One copy recently sold for $10,000 on eBay. Now that's what I call a good investment.

4. Remco Batman Utility Belt

The utility belt came with bells, whistles, a communicator, decoder glasses, a toy watch, handcuffs, a map, secret cards, and other really cool things, which is why a decent condition of this sells for more than $3,000.

3. Vintage Books

If you had a book collection, good news for you! Those books you spent a few dollars on may be worth several thousands of dollars now.

For example, a first edition of The Garden of Abdul Gasazi, a 1979 children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg, is estimated to be worth $1,000. A first edition of Jumanji from 1981 is estimated to be worth the same. Also, a signed first edition of The Polar Express from 1985 is worth $2,500.

As books are re-printed, some copies slowly start to die out. Some early copies of Gabriel Garcia Marquez's One Hundred Years of Solitude is worth several hundreds of dollars because the first paragraph has an exclamation point instead of a period. Crazy reason for some crazy money!

2. Action Figures

Action figures that have been preserved in their original box can be worth hundreds, and sometimes even thousands of dollars! Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Batman action figures are some of the few that will make you the big bucks.

One original Mego Robin action figure sold for more than $7,000! Mego was considered "The World's Greatest Action Figure Company," but went bankrupt in the early '80s. They came out with this first version of Robin, in which the figure came with a removable mask, and because this feature did not exist in later editions, it's become rare and valuable.

1. Vintage Barbie Dolls

These dolls can't be looking like Cynthia from Rugrats, they've got to be in great condition to sell for several hundreds of dollars.

The Walk Lively Steffie barbie, for example, is estimated to be worth $800. The 1971 talking busy Ken Doll is selling for $120 on eBay.

Do you have any of these '70s relics lying around?

'Watership Down' Terrified Us As Kids, But Now It's Back With A Brand New Remake

There are a bunch of movies from our childhood that looking back are kind of messed up. Whether it's kids getting turned into blueberries or aliens coming down from outer space only to phone home, we've had to deal with a lot. But there's one movie that confused a lot of kids, and probably scarred even more for life. Watership Down was an animated movie made in 1978, and while a cartoon about rabbits seems like it'd be a great choice for children, the truth is that it was kind of horrific. I believe that my brain has completely blocked

The Evolution of the NFL

The NFL may be the single biggest sports league in the world, but it’s been a long and winding route to reach this point. Many of the major changes that have brought us here have taken place in the last thirty years, but none of these could have happened without what had gone before. For example, while there are now 32 teams split between the National Football League and the American Football Conference, this division dates back to merger that occurred in 1970 between the NFL and its rival the American Football League. And, while there have been countless
