Take A Look Inside Audrey Hepburn's Dreamy Former Hollywood Mansion

Audrey Hepburn was one of the most iconic actresses to ever grace the big screen.

Not only did she win the hearts of film fanatics by starring in classics like Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) and My Fair Lady(1964), Hepburn also became a fashion muse and one of the world's most admired style icons.

It's been twenty five years since the legendary Audrey Hepburn left us, but her legacy and influence continues to a big part of pop culture today.

In 2017, it was announced that her estate, including her clothes, jewelry, and photographs, would be auctioned off.

Shortly after, her former Los Angeles, California home was put up for sale.

While Hepburn did live in a number of different places over six decades, this mansion be the most luxurious of them all.

Designed in 1938 by the first African American to join the American Institute of Architects, Paul Williams, the 6,414-square-foot was Hepburn's abode for a few years before it was purchased by other famous stars, including Mia Farrow and Eva Gabor.

One look at the massive property, and you can already picture all the lavish parties with Hollywood's elite that have taken place in its walls.

The home, which boasts six bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms, has been updated over the years, but some of the original fixtures and details still remain.

Have a look:

The foyer

As soon as you walk into the house, you're greeted by a massive foyer that has been decorated with floor-to-ceiling mirrors that make the space appear even bigger.

The foyer leads to a hallway with a staircase that curves around a gorgeous crystal chandelier.

Hepburn lived within these walls with her husband Mel Ferrer around the time she was filming My Fair Lady.

The living room features one of the many fireplaces in the house as well as a library with bookshelves built into the wall.

It's unclear if this was originally part of the house, but we wouldn't be surprised if it was added by Hepburn. She was known for being an avid reader.

"For my whole life, my favorite activity was reading," Hepburn once said. "It's not the most social pastime."

The family room's main features are the large windows that allow natural light to brighten up the space and offer a view of the greenery that surrounds the house.

Dining Rooms

There are three separate dining areas in the house.

The "breakfast room" has a black and white checkered floor that is believed to be the original tiling, while the second dining room is perfect for those days when you want to enjoy dinner with a view.

Last year, Hepburn's son cleared up rumors about his mother's eating habits, revealing that her thin frame wasn't because she had an eating disorder. It was a result of her traumatic childhood  during the Second World War.

“She loved Italian food and pasta. She ate a lot of grains, not a lot of meat, and a little bit of everything.”

He added, "She didn’t diet. We had brown bread with jam for breakfast, lunch would be chicken or veal or pasta, often with vegetables from the garden, and for dinner we often had soup with chicken and vegetables," recalls Wolders. "She had chocolate after dinner, baking chocolate. She had a finger or two of Scotch at night.”
