10 Cereals We Haven't Eaten Since We Were Kids, But We Really Wish We Could

Breakfast time is always a pretty exciting part of the day. I mean, at least it is when you're a kid. When you're an adult it means it's time to head out to work, but for kids it's a bit different.

When you're young, you have very few responsibilities. Sure, you have to go to school, but it's not really the biggest deal.

But even still, we were supposed to start our days off right with a health and well-balanced breakfast. What did we do instead? We ate a bunch of sugary cereal and crashed by snack time.

Did we ever realize their was the potential to eat something healthy that would keep us going all day? Probably. Did we ever do it? Of course not.

Breakfast cereals were basically an entire food group on their own. There were so many varieties and flavors to choose between, it was like a never ending adventure down the grocery aisle any time our moms said we could try a new cereal.

I know some kids weren't allowed sugary cereals, and I'm very sorry for your loss, but for the rest of us, these cereals were our everything.

1. Waffle Crisp

Yes please. Just leave the box on the table because you know you're going to need seconds...Okay thirds.

It's essentially a big ol' bowl of mini Eggos and that's really all we've ever wanted right?

How do make this a balanced breakfast? You eat it as a side to your full size Eggos. That's how it's done right?

2. Urkel-Os

Of course we all know that Steve Urkel was a huge success, but sometimes you might forget that he had his own cereal.

That's right, if you couldn't get enough of the goofy neighbor, you could bring his strawberry & banana flavored cereal into your home.

I guess it's better than having actual Urkel in your house...

The cereal however was top notch, and honestly, I could go for a bowl right now...

3. Teddy Grahams Breakfast Bears

I think my favorite thing about the cereals of our childhood was that so many of them were just an excuse to eat a big bowl of cookies for breakfast.

Sure, you could have a handful of Teddy Grahams for breakfast, but your mom is going to yell at you. But if you pour out these "Breakfast Bears" suddenly they are just fine.

All you need to do is shrink the cookie down a little bit and then voila, perfect breakfast apparently.

4. E.T. Cereal

We all fell in love with the little extra-terrestrial when his movie came out, but with this cereal we could celebrate his love of peanut butter and chocolate treats.

Personally this one was never my favorite, but I remember my sister being really upset when they stopped selling it at out local grocery store.

5. Rainbow Brite Sweetened Cereal

I was absolutely obsessed with Rainbow Brite, just like everyone else in the world. And to help us with our obsession, they made us a special rainbow cereal.

The little pieces were all fruit flavors, but they were all shaped like little macaronis. According to the box there was a mail-in offer for a pretty awesome night shirt though, so why wouldn't you get it!

6. Croonchy Stars

Who knew, the Muppets had a cereal! It makes sense that the Swedish Chef is the one on the box I suppose, as he's the one who is always in the kitchen!

This cinnamon toasted cereal was pretty delicious back in the day. So much so that even though it only lasted a year in its initial run, it was brought back three years later for a final attempt.

Unfortunately it still failed, but at least we will always have the memories... Bork bork bork.

7. Banana Frosted Flakes

I'm sorry but I could never get on board with this one, but it was a big hit for a lot of people.

It lasted a full three years, which in the cereal industry doesn't seem all that bad, but personally to me I always associate banana flavoring with that medicine you were forced to take as a kid for strep throat.

But that is probably just me, I bet a lot of you loved this cereal, right? Someone must have...

8. Pop-Tarts Crunch

Once again, this was another case of "if you shrink it, it becomes cereal," although in this case it was a something that was already considered a breakfast food.

Pop-Tarts were obviously amazing, but how about eating dozens of them soaked in milk? Pretty appetizing right?

9. Mr. T Cereal

Mr. T was an icon in the 80s. He starred on the wonderful and successful show The A-Team as B.A., the tough guy with a fear of flying.

But that wasn't enough. He made his own cereal, of course all the pieces were in the shapes of T's, and they were little corn and oat bites that were "fortified with B-vitamins and iron" according to the box.

Obviously that was just there so we could trick our parents into buying this so we could get those super rad stickers.

10. Ice Cream Cones Cereal

I think we can all agree that ice cream for breakfast is the best option, but when you were a kid, your mom didn't let that happen.

Instead we had to trick her with this wonderful creation. Even though it only lasted for a year, it found its way into our hearts.

They did try to bring it back in 2003, but I guess the world just isn't ready to embrace the fact that ice cream is the best breakfast food.

There are just so many good cereals out there that we miss, but luckily they just keep making new ones for us!

Which of these flavors did you always go for when you were allowed to pick out your cereals?

There are a lot more discontinued snacks that we used to love, it wasn't just cereal. Whether it was Planter's Cheese Balls or Hubba Bubba Soda, there were so many good snacks that you can't get anymore.

But don't worry, there are also a lot of other snacks that you can actually still buy to this day and we know where you can find them.

Reptar Bars Are Back And They Are The "Superist" And The "Duperist" Versions Yet

Everyone remembers watching Rugrats as a kid, right? It was only the best kids' show ever. Those "dumb babies" as Angelica Pickles would say were a lot more clever than they let on, and in their many adventures they inspired us kids to believe that we could do anything. I mean, we don't have to question how or why a baby keeps a screwdriver in his diaper, because the logistics of where he got it or how he keeps it in there without hurting himself is beyond me, but that's not what matters here. What does matter is that these

Trix Cereal Is Finally Going Back To Their Classic Look And We Cannot Wait

Who else remembers eating a big ol' bowl full of Trix cereal in the morning before packing your lunch and heading off to school? Trix was the perfect cereal to eat, because a lot of us felt like we were tricking our parents into thinking it was healthy. Sure, we're eating sugary cereal, but it's fruit-flavored so obviously it's not as bad as Cocoa Puffs or something. Boy, were we wrong. Well, now we're all old enough not to care, we can eat sugary cereal if we want because guess what, cereal is delicious. But there's been one thing missing

15 Former Pizza Huts Now Trying (And Failing) To Be Something Else

We've said it before and we'll say it again, Pizza Hut is truly excellent. No, they aren't paying me to say that, but if they want to, I'm ready to make a deal. Back on track though, Pizza Hut has been around since 1958, and in their 60 year history they have managed to create quite the empire. Sure, a lot of other pizza places have come and gone in that time, and maybe they aren't as popular as they used to be, but Pizza Hut will always hold a special, pizza-shaped place in all of our hearts. If there

7 Reasons Why None Of Us Will Ever Forget The Glorious Pizza Hut Experience

I don't know about you, but for me, Pizza Hut wasn't just a restaurant. Pizza Hut was a magical place that only existed when you got a straight-A report card or had a birthday. There wasn't a location nearby to my town, so going to Pizza Hut was an event. But I think that even those who went more often still know all about the power of the Hut. Going to Pizza Hut doesn't seem like it's as big of a deal anymore, if anything people tend to forget it exists. But those of us who know the truth and

The Very Last Blockbuster Store Has Launched Their Own Exclusive Beer

Everyone who grew up in the 80s and 90s knows that Blockbuster was the coolest place in the world. Every opportunity you'd get, you'd rush down to the video store to search the aisles for your new favorite movie. You'd always check the new releases first, and if nothing sparked your curiosity, you'd head over to the older movies and search until something looked fun. It was always the best part of the week, and the fact that there is only one Blockbuster left in the country is kind of heartbreaking. 15 dollars later and you could have a blockbuster

Pop-Tarts Crunch Cereal Is Making A Come Back And The Wait Is Almost Over

If you were lucky enough to be alive in 1994 or 1995, you know that Pop-Tarts Crunch was the only cereal that mattered. Sure, it only lasted for those two years, but those of us who got to eat it, have been missing it ever since. It came in two delicious varieties: Brown Sugar and Strawberry, and honestly I can't pick a favorite. It was basically like having a big ol' bowl of Pop-Tarts and that's all we want. Pop-Tarts were already one of the most popular breakfast snack, probably because it was a way for all of us kids
