10 Songs That Made The Movies They Were Featured In So Much Better

There's nothing quite like a catchy song in a movie to give you the feels.

I just want to say that these songs are great on their own, but the movies they were featured in did them justice.

There are so many songs we can add to this list, but we chose some of our favorite throwback tunes that put a special touch on some of our favorite movies.

1. "Maniac" by Michael Sembello - Flashdance

I actually thought Jennifer Beals's energetic stretches was the "Maniac" dance. This scene of the movie should have been the music video, and not Michael Sembello just standing in one place while singing one of the most upbeat songs ever. I seriously don't know how he resisted the urge to move around the stage.

2. "Misirlou" by Dick Dale & His Del-Tones - Pulp Fiction

Quentin Tarantino isn't considered the best director all time for nothing. Before Black Eyed Peas sampled Dick Dale & Del-Tones's song "Misirlou," it was famous for being in one of the greatest film masterpieces of all time!

3. "Footloose" by Kenny Loggins - Footloose

The song itself is incredible, but without the movie we wouldn't even know how to dance to "Footloose." There's more to it than just swaying side to side.

4. "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen - Wayne's World

This scene has been recreated so many times on YouTube for a reason. "Bohemian Rhapsody" is arguably the best song to sing in a group, and after Wayne's World, we learned it's the best song to sing while in your car.

5. "Tiny Dancer" by Elton John - Almost Famous

I always loved Elton John's song "Tiny Dancer", but it felt so much more special after seeing the main cast of Almost Famous sing along with it.

These next ones always got me moving, either physically or emotionally...

6. "Mamma Mia" by ABBA - Mamma Mia!

This song is so much better when it has good visuals to go with it. That's probably why Mamma Mia! is also a musical.

7. "The Power" by Snap! - Bruce Almighty

Jim Carrey made a good point: God has the power, and now every time we listen to this song we can't help but feel greater than we actually are.

8. "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing' by Aerosmith - Armageddon

The song makes you feel like the world is ending, thanks to Armageddon, but is not seeing the love of your life or having your heart broken any different?

9. "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion - Titanic

It's not possible to listen to this song without crying. Thanks to director James Cameron, every time we hear Celine Dion's beautiful voice we can't help but picture Jack's frozen body.

10. "Old Time Rock and Roll" by Bob Seger - Risky Business

This is THE only way I know how to dance to this song: in my pajamas (or lack thereof) while I'm home alone.
