You May Have Seen The New Characters, But You Probably Don't Know Who They Replace

There is nothing that is sacred, nothing that is left untouched, and nothing that is immune from a remake. The My Little Pony remake isn't new at all, but when you look at the old and new shows together, it's beyond upsetting.

The original My Little Pony show came out in the 80s and then there was a follow up called My Little Pony Tales in the early 90s. My Little Pony Friendship is Magic came out in 2010 and they really went all out on a new look and style of our favorite pony friends. I'm not going to lie, it's really weird to see.

<amp-img src="https://legacy.throwbacks.com/content/images/2017/04/Sundance_open4.png" title="" alt="" height="9" width="16" layout="responsive"></amp-img>

You know how they used to be these adorable little ponies with that classic 80s feel? Well now... They have enormous eyes, pointy noises and are not at all what you remember.

<amp-img src="https://legacy.throwbacks.com/content/images/2017/04/vlcsnap-00380.png" title="" alt="" height="9" width="16" layout="responsive"></amp-img>

There were a lot of characters in the 80s version, all of which were awesome. They have actually used a lot of the same characters in the new show which is weird to see. While they don't always have the same names, you can definitely see the originals in them. Whether it's their personality or their markings, it's all very obvious. Some of them end up as a few characters mixed together so they look a bit different, but they are in there somewhere!

So who's who now?

Glory is now called Rarity

<amp-img src="https://legacy.throwbacks.com/content/images/2017/04/glory2.png" title="" alt="" height="9" width="16" layout="responsive"></amp-img>

Firefly is now called Rainbow Dash

<amp-img src="https://legacy.throwbacks.com/content/images/2017/04/fireflyrainbowdash.png" title="" alt="" height="9" width="16" layout="responsive"></amp-img>

Posey is now called Fluttershy

<amp-img src="https://legacy.throwbacks.com/content/images/2017/04/poseyfluttershy.png" title="" alt="" height="9" width="16" layout="responsive"></amp-img>

Surprise is now called Pinkie Pie

<amp-img src="https://legacy.throwbacks.com/content/images/2017/04/surprise.png" title="" alt="" height="9" width="16" layout="responsive"></amp-img>

Applejack is still Applejack

<amp-img src="https://legacy.throwbacks.com/content/images/2017/04/applejack.png" title="" alt="" height="9" width="16" layout="responsive"></amp-img>

The characters all got new looks, but they are just as popular as they ever were. What do you think of the new looks? Should they have left them the way they were or are you okay with the new version?

Let us know in the comments!
