6 Toy Machines We Were Completely Obsessed With As Kids

Etsy

Creating something with our own two hands always made the best stuff. It didn't matter if it was a treat or a toy, it was also an activity that kept us busy for hours.

Whether we were making a bunch of shaved ice or melting things into our own toys, we all loved the fact that we were involved in the creative process. There were so many awesome kits to choose between, which one was your favorite?

Creepy Crawlers

For anyone who wanted to make a toy that was just a gross and slimy bug, this was the one for you! I feel like their prime audience was kids who wanted to freak out their siblings, but you know what, they were super popular.

Snoopy Snow Cone Machine

Who doesn't love a snow cone? They are delicious and always remind us of being at a fair. But when we realized that we could just make a snow cone from the comfort of our own home we all went completely crazy. Who knew shaved ice was so much fun?

Precious Metals / Metal Molder

You know what sounds like a good idea for kids to have? A machine that can melt metal! Liquid metal is the perfect toy for a young child! What this machine did was melt these little metal beads so that you could pour it into a mold. You could make jewelry like rings and charms, all custom-made. They made a version that was targeted at girls and another for boys that was called "Metal Molder" that had a different set of molds that would make little figures instead of jewelry.

That wasn't the only weird little melting over that we had when we were kids...

Dolly Maker

This was another toy where you had to melt something into a mold, but instead of metal, you melted plastic to make little dolls. You could get different molds that would let you make different outfits, and then using all the colors you would have an endless doll factory in your possession!

Mr. Frosty Snow Cone Machine

Snow cones were really the only thing us kids really wanted to make, so whether you had the Snoopy version or a Mr. Frosty machine, everyone was eating snow cones.

McDonald's Happy Meal Kit

Whether you wanted to make fake chicken nuggets, some fake fries, or a fake burger, this large collection of machines made it possible. There were so many machines to chose between, and honestly a lot of them look pretty iffy. As a kid we didn't care, we just wanted McDonald's!

Did you ever have any of these kits? Which was your favorite?

Reptar Bars Are Back And They Are The "Superist" And The "Duperist" Versions Yet

Everyone remembers watching Rugrats as a kid, right? It was only the best kids' show ever. Those "dumb babies" as Angelica Pickles would say were a lot more clever than they let on, and in their many adventures they inspired us kids to believe that we could do anything. I mean, we don't have to question how or why a baby keeps a screwdriver in his diaper, because the logistics of where he got it or how he keeps it in there without hurting himself is beyond me, but that's not what matters here. What does matter is that these

Trix Cereal Is Finally Going Back To Their Classic Look And We Cannot Wait

Who else remembers eating a big ol' bowl full of Trix cereal in the morning before packing your lunch and heading off to school? Trix was the perfect cereal to eat, because a lot of us felt like we were tricking our parents into thinking it was healthy. Sure, we're eating sugary cereal, but it's fruit-flavored so obviously it's not as bad as Cocoa Puffs or something. Boy, were we wrong. Well, now we're all old enough not to care, we can eat sugary cereal if we want because guess what, cereal is delicious. But there's been one thing missing

15 Former Pizza Huts Now Trying (And Failing) To Be Something Else

We've said it before and we'll say it again, Pizza Hut is truly excellent. No, they aren't paying me to say that, but if they want to, I'm ready to make a deal. Back on track though, Pizza Hut has been around since 1958, and in their 60 year history they have managed to create quite the empire. Sure, a lot of other pizza places have come and gone in that time, and maybe they aren't as popular as they used to be, but Pizza Hut will always hold a special, pizza-shaped place in all of our hearts. If there

This One Teen's Tweet About Burning CDs Will Honestly Ruin Your Day

All of us who would consider ourselves to be 80s and 90s kids aren't really that old, right? We are still in the prime of our lives, and a lot of us still feel like we're just getting started on our path to being a "real grown-up." Maybe it's not the greatest that a lot of us still feel young, but times have changed since our parents were in their 30s. We've learned how to chill out and take our time in our lives. There's no rush, so let's all just relax and try to stay young longer. Here's the

Ikea Is Bringing Back The Couch Of Your Nightmares, And People Have A Lot To Say About It

Remember when you were growing up and you'd go hang out in the living room for hours and hours, never leaving your spot on the couch? Well, honestly I can't pretend much has changed, other than the fact that the couch has fewer flowers on it than ever before. Most people stick to a single color now, but back in the day there was apparently nothing more desirable than a good floral pattern. Big flowers, small flowers, pinks ones, or blue, every combination was waiting for you. We've all seen a lot of bad couches in our days, but when

There's Now Only One Blockbuster Left, But It Refuses To Give Up

We've all known for a while that Blockbuster was basically a lost cause. Most Blockbuster locations closed down many years ago, leaving behind their empty buildings that look like they house all the ghosts of the 90s. However there were a few places where Blockbuster Video refused to die. There were six locations remaining in Alaska, and one in Bend, Oregon, but this weekend marks a sad moment. All of the Alaskan Blockbusters have been officially closed. Four had actually been closed earlier in the year, but this weekend the final two locations closed their doors for good. But don't
