10 Toys That Proved We Just Wanted To Hurt Each Other

Imgur

Let's face it: kids are jerks sometimes. As much as we like to think of them as happy little bundles of joy, the reality is that kids love few things quite as much as finding fun ways to hurt their friends. Of course, we were no different as kids, and these 10 toys prove it.

Nerf Guns

Hasbro

While these were supposed to be the "safe" way to have kids shoot each other (given the ammo is made of soft plastic darts), let's get real here, anything shot at a speed that can cover 70 ft in about 2 seconds is going to hurt. Especially if you take one in the eye or neck.

Missile-Shooting Action Figures

Hasbro

Now THIS was where the real warfare came in. Any time a Transformer or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle came with a gun of some kind that featured "firing action," you just knew that this was going to be the perfect toy to use to torment your little brother. That is, until mom got fed up and took it away.

Socker Boppers

Groupon

I mean... punching someone in the face is still punching someone in the face, even if it's done with a giant inflatable cushion tied to your fist. I mean sure, you're less likely to have something broken by one of these, it still freaking hurts!

Slingshots

Amazon

Okay, in some places these things are classified are legitimate weapons, and frankly, anyone who gets hit by a rock thrown by one of these could probably agree.

The toys just get crazier from here...

Plastic Tools

Amazon

Every kid liked to pretend to fix things with their own plastic tool set, but when your sibling or another kid got on your bad side, those tools suddenly became things we used not to create or repair, but to destroy.

Super Soakers

Hasbro

Sure, these were basically just water guns, but between the pressure some of these fired off with, as well as our tendency to aim for the face, water can still hurt.

Dodgeballs

Imgur

Whether it was in gym class or on the play ground, these bright red bastards hurt like hell when you got hit with one of them, and if you're anything like me, you got hit with them a LOT.

Fake Weapons

Amazon

There's no two-ways about it: we loved things like plastic swords and shields, and they just gave us new and creative ways to hurt each other (or rather old ways, given what these were inspired by).

Hot Wheels Tracks

Mattel

Sure, playing with Hot Wheels is pretty safe and ultimately harmless, but MAN were those tracks great for fighting with if you and your brother were especially pissed off at each other.

Fireworks

Imgur

Fireworks come equipped with warnings about needing to be very, VERY careful when using them, but that sure as hell didn't stop us from throwing lit ones at each other.

What toys did you get hurt by the most as a kid?

10 Things That Helped Us All Survive Elementary School In The 90s

Going to elementary school is something that we all had to do, but we all had different experiences. Socially, elementary school was a battlefield. It was exhausting and more dramatic than it needed to be, but at least we all grew up before the internet was a thing. Nowadays kids have to deal with their bullies following them home, at least virtually, and never getting a chance to be alone. Even if it's from their friends, kids should have some time to themselves, right? Disney ChannelWell, when we grew up in the 90s, times were just a lot simpler. Who

5 Reasons Why The Scholastic Book Fair Will Always Be The Best Part Of Elementary School

Being in school 5 days a week is kind of like having a full time job, only instead of getting paid in money, you have to sit there and learn. You get sent home with homework, you have to write book reports, you have tests and presentations and all of it is a lot of effort for a growing brain. But there was a place, one beautiful reprieve from our tortuous experience where we could feel at peace. That place was the Scholastic Book Fair. Once a year our schools would treat us by bringing the book orders to life.

30 Toys From The Sears Wishbook We All Wanted Under Our Christmas Tree 30 Years Ago

I think we can all agree that one of the best things to do while growing up was digging through the Sears Wishbook to try and make our Christmas lists. It was around this time every year that we started to get really serious about it, even though Christmas was still a ways off. We obviously needed a lot of time to plan out our lists for Santa Claus, and we weren't about to make the same mistake as the year before and forget to send one! The Wishbook was an important part of that and while it may not

10 Weebles Playsets From Our Childhoods We Loved To Watch Wobble

There were always toys when you were a kid that seemed to be more important than the rest. There were some that you couldn't go to bed without, there were others that you spent months begging your parents for, and then there were a few that were just staples, readily available where ever you went. No matter which friends house you were at or doctor's office waiting room you were in, there were some that just seemed to be everywhere. Weebles were one of the toys you would be mostly likely to find anywhere that toys were set up for
